Conveyor Dishwasher Features
The conveyor dishwasher has not changed its operating principle since Soviet times: it provides a continuous washing process. In such a PMM, the dishes enter the conveyor belt, which stretches the plates through several compartments at once: for washing, rinsing and drying (if provided in the design).

Water is sprayed onto the plates under high pressure with special nozzles located on all sides of the washing hopper. Today's models, unlike their Soviet counterparts, are equipped with nozzles that supply a stream of water in the same direction in which the dishes are in the conveyor. This effect prolongs the contact of dishes with a water stream.
- Rinse. In this compartment, there is a temperature of 90 degrees - well-heated water provides complete disinfection of cutlery and plates, destroying up to 90% of harmful microorganisms.
Important! After such washing and rinsing, the dishes 100% meet the declared sanitary standards, which cannot be achieved manually.
During rinsing the dishes, special rinses are used, which accelerate the drying process, prevent the appearance of stains and smudges. The rinse stage can be divided into several cycles or be single. With simple rinsing, the treatment takes place once, with complex rinsing, the dishes are first poured with hot water to rinse the detergent, then they are treated with rinse aid dissolved in cold water, and then with crystal clear hot water.
Some PMM conveyor models are equipped with an additional hopper for pre-rinsing. Especially “cool” cars have steam condensers that trap the steam generated when washing with water at different temperatures.
Types, advantages and disadvantages of conveyor machines
There are two types of dishwashers that work on the basis of the conveyor:
- Tape. In them, the baskets fall on a tape equipped with “fingers”. In this case, you need two operators, one of which will load the dishes, the second - to collect it. These machines are often installed in large dining rooms, resorts and boarding houses - where there are many dishes of the same shape. Their difference is the direct shape and large dimensions.
- Cassette Plates are shuffled on cassettes, after which they are loaded into the PMM. These are more compact machines that require only one operator. But there are two drawbacks: the low intensity of washing, which is interrupted by cassettes, and the rapid deterioration of dish baskets.
Important! Cassette-type conveyor machines are popular in restaurants or canteens with a wide variety of dishes.
Regardless of the type of PMM, its design provides trays for cutlery and other utensils.
Performance is the main plus of this technique. And the main disadvantages of conveyor machines are:
- costly - require a lot of water and electricity;
- They are connected to a three-phase network of 380 V, therefore they require re-equipment of the power supply in the room.
